i would like to tell my experience to all of you about spouse name addition to Passport.As this was a reissue i went with all the documents, to Tolichowki PSK
1) Bank statement with covering letter for address proof
2) Marriage affidavit
3) Filled in online application
On that eventfulday in April 2012, went to the office and got cleared in the A counter. Trouble came in B counter. As my Passport was issued in Chennai, B counter officer told me to bring marriage certificate. This was not mentioned in their website. I had to go back to madurai to do the certificate. Came back to the same place after one month with Marriage certificATE.
On the second visit, Counter C person was trying to put Pre police verification, i told them it will be post verification only. Then he called someone to get a clarity and has approved post verification
Reason for rejection of Marriage affidavit:
1) Marriage conducted out of AP, STRANGE REASON!
Moral: Marriage certificate is the only trouble free document for Spouse name addition, dont waste money on affidavit if you are not applying in your home state
Conclusion: got the PP reissued in 3 days and my sons Application was a breeze and he got his minor passport in 3 working days.
Police verification: A smooth affair, well done by the Police department
